I haven't been able to get ahold of my doctor due to the 3 hour time difference (they haven't answered any of me emails) I'm 21 years old, 5ft tall & 170lbs. 5 months post op & my right cheek is extremely deformed. It has multiple flat spots, it's very droopy. It looks fake & deformed. Would losin weight improve the shape? Or will I need a 3rd round? I wanted to lose 40-45lbs but I'm worried it'll also decrease the size of the left side which is already smaller than the right.. thank you!

The lower buttock skin can be difficult to expand.  In your earlier postop photos it was more rounded, but as the swelling went down, you developed the current shape.  You are a bit far out but good massaging can help, especially near the time of the surgery.  Losing weight will affect the overall volume and may or may not change the shape much.  A third round is possible, though you should wait a while longer to give it more healing time.  It looks like you had some scarring from the liposuction so may not have much more fat available to take.  It is possible to remove some from the more full areas and attempt transferring it into the flatter zones.

Ideal candidates are at a stable weight,  in good health , and have excess fat in some parts of the body and too little in other regions.  Gaining weight before the procedure is to no advantage and when you lose weight again the fat cells will shrink just like the donor site fat cells.  Typically, the transferred fat results in a significant increase in volume of the body site being treated.

By now, you have probably gotten in touch with the plastic surgeon who performed your BBL and have his/her recommendation regarding weight loss post BBL.In general it is better to lose weight prior to Brazilian buttlift if you will still have ample fat stores.  If you stay within 10 or 20 lbs of your operative weight, you are likely to maintain the results  As you lose weight, your buttock is likely to lose volume.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
