Can I still have my BBL done whilst on medication.?

Ideal candidates are at a stable weight,  in good health , and have excess fat in some parts of the body and too little in other regions.  Gaining weight before the procedure is to no advantage and when you lose weight again the fat cells will shrink just like the donor site fat cells.  Typically, the transferred fat results in a significant increase in volume of the body site being treated.

Many patients who are on a wide variety of antidepressant medication undergo cosmetic surgery.  Taking these medications will not prevent your from having a BBL.  Your plastic surgeon may ask for a medical clearance from your psychiatrist.  Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Thank you for your question about the BBL procedure. These medications are all okay to be on in order to have the surgery, but because you are on these medications, it is very important that you communicate this with your surgeon so he/she knows you are taking them.
