After 6-7 months PO, my results were INCREDIBLE and I thought they were here to stay. However, I am now almost a year post op and have not lost weight, but my butt and hips have shrunk noticeably! It seems like my butt deformed (perhaps from sitting 10 hrs/day at my office job daily, even though I still use the bbl pillow). So, I’m not sure what I can do to fix it. Should I try to gain weight or work out? Im scared if I work out I’ll just lose weight and my butt and hips will shrink more.
Answer: Fat viability Dear Future_Doll13, most patients lose 30-50% of transferred fat while healing from surgery. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Lost volume MONTHS after bbl, can I still fix it or do I need another surgery? Thanks for your question. You are likely seeing changes as a result of decreasing swelling. After surgery there is a predictable swelling process that mostly resolves over two months, when the final result really settles in. A second round of fat transfer can be a good option if you have enough fat available. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Best is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

Answer: Lost volume MONTHS after bbl, can I still fix it or do I need another surgery? (photo) It is difficult to answer your question from the photos provided. Having the BBL done a second time is an option as long as you have enough fat to be transferred. The revision implies that there is less fat than the first time, and scar tissue will make the surgery much more difficult on the surgeon. The percentage of fat survival in the BBL the second time should be about the same. Recommend that you set up an appointment with the PS who performed your first BBL to discuss your options. Answer: Lost volume MONTHS after bbl It is difficult to answer this question without assessment and knowing your expectations before the surgery The resorption of the fat is always difficult to predict and has to be discussed with your surgeon I always tell my patients that the most important thing in this procedure is the curve that we give you after the procedure by the liposuctions in the target areas.

Answer: Lost Volume After BBL The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
