Can butt implants be removed with local anesthesia?

It is not clear why the implants are being removed. Reasons for their removal include but no limited to infection, malposition, hard encapsulation about the implant, or unhappy with the size.It is not possible to entirely predict  if you will have ptosis  or drooping of the buttock following their removal. . Therefore it is important that you have a very good reason to remove them after so many years.The implants can be removed with local anesthesia but I would recommend adding intravenous sedation or general anesthesia for your own comfort. Dear patient,It is possible to remove butt implants under local anesthesia, but it is something I don't recommend.  When the implants are placed under the skin its very easy to remove them, if they are placed intra-muscular or sub-muscular it might take a little longer.  For your comfort I would recommend at least for you to consider doing it with sedation.  I think that removing the implants will definitively produce some degree of sagging.  It is important to understand well what the purpose of removing them is and maybe consider replacing them instead of removing them.  I will love to help you more with this answer, but I would need more information.Best regards,Dr. Urzola
