Your plastic surgeon will have his or her post-operative protocols for you to follow. No pools or the like should be entered until wound healing is complete, which will probably take at least 6 weeks. The last thing you want is an infection following this procedures. Bruises may take 1 to 2 weeks before fading away following the surgery.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Healing times will vary from patient to patient and procedure to procedure. Patients can generally expect about 4-6 weeks of bruising and swelling. There will still be subtle changes in the months to follow and patients should not expect a final result until 6 months post op.With regards to your specific question, the vast majority of your bruising and swelling should have subsided by 1 month post op. However, there is no guarantee of being "vacation ready." This window of healing is very narrow and does not allow for any unanticipated deviations from a routine post op course. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
Dear Morgan love, your vacation is scheduled on month after the surgery so you should heal by then. However, you might still have some signs of bruising which will depend on the amount of intra-operative bleeding and bruising. Regarding the swimming, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
One month out from surgery should be enough time for most patients to recover enough to travel. Of course, everyone heals at different rates. Best to review with your surgeon.
Your recovery can be as quick as two weeks! After a month you should be good to travel and swim, and bruising should be down. Keep in mind that High Definition liposuction with VASER technology, as well as Puregraft fat transfer will give you the best results and offer the highest yield of fat. Using VASER, properly utilizing compression garments, and having a high protein diet before and after your procedure will also help with bruising.
To achieve the smallest waist possible and the best waist to hip ratio, I would recommend lipo of the back, abdomen, flanks, and love handles with fat transfer to the buttocks.. Liposuction average cost of one area is probably $4000, two maybe $6000, three maybe $7500, i.e. economy of scale....
As a bodybuilder, I understand the desire to return to the gym. I usually recommend 4 - 6 weeks so that healing should be far enough along to reduce the incidence of complications. You have waited 9 weeks; you should be fine.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
After six weeks of uncomplicated healing, you should be able to return to HIIT workouts. I would take it easy initially to not overdo the very intense bouts of exercise. If you use weights in the gym, would recommend repetition with light, rather than heavy weights. If you plan to include s...
My advice would be to ask the plastic surgeon who performs these two procedures, as he or she will know how well you tolerated the surgery. I would advise you to be careful in slowly climbing the stairs while holding to the handrail. Have someone beside you to help as you will be sore and recov...
