The safest timing depends on how extensive the liposuction was, what anesthesia was used, your fluid balance, and whether you are taking antibiotics, pain medication or blood thinners. An elective IV vitamin infusion is usually best avoided in the first few days after surgery unless the operating surgeon has cleared it. Early recovery is better supported by oral hydration, adequate protein, gentle walking, compression, and the specific post-op plan already provided. If recovery is uncomplicated, IV vitamins can be considered later in the recovery period after medication use, swelling, dizziness, nausea, and hydration status have been reviewed. Any infusion should be deferred if there is fever, increasing pain, shortness of breath, calf pain, worsening swelling, or concern for dehydration or infection.
