I'm we'll aware of the different topicals and treatments that can benefit collagen production but how about elastin?

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

One of the best ways to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin is through skin resurfacing with Fraxel lasers. You can either choose Fraxel Re:Pair or Re:Store. Re:Pair is a CO2 ablative laser that will redden your face for a couple of weeks. You only need one treatment to get a dramatic improvement. If you want to eliminate the downtime that comes with a red face, then choose Fraxel Re:Store, which is nonablative and has no downtime. You will need more than one treatment with this laser to get the same results as you would with Re:Pair. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who has experience resurfacing the face with Fraxel to get the most benefits.

Retin-A is able to help the skin product new collagen and elastic fibers.Surgical procedures can also help the skin build new collagen and elastic fibers. The deeper the laser treatment and the longer the recovery usually the better the skin improvement. Using ablative resurfacing its possible to cause new skin to grow with improved collagen and elastic fiber development. I'll include a link below to learn more. Fraxel would be the most effective way to stimulate collagen and elastin. There are different types of Fraxel that have varying degree of intensities. Fraxel Re:Pair is a CO2 ablative fractional laser; you will only need one treatment to rejuvenate your skin, but you will have about 2 weeks of downtime. Fraxel Re:Store is an erbium nonablative laser that is gentler and can be used to resurface fine lines and wrinkles. Fraxel Re:Store Dual is an erbium plus thulium laser that's best for resolving skin hyper- or hypopigmentation and removing pre-cancerous lesions. Thanks for asking your question.  In our experience the most effective way to stimulate new collagen and elastic fibers is with a laser treatment.  We prefer using a  modern fractional resurfacing laser.   With this laser there is typically a noticeable improvement after one treatment and only a  1-3 day recovery.  New collagen can continue to develop for up to six months after one laser treatment.  The amount of new collagen that develops varies between individuals.  Typically after a laser treatment these improvements persist.  If a second procedure is performed it is to obtain a further improvement.
