i am 50 and considering doing a bit of neck and jowls and readjusting my cheek pads ? fat transfer I did a little last year and only lasted about 3 months? is this normal?
Answer: Mini-Facelift and Fat Transfer A mini facelift will help the neck and jowls and can be done with small incisions. Fat transfer to the cheek pads can be very helpful in giving you several years of corrective fulness. Fat grafting done in a precise manner using specialized mainstream techniques can be extremely effective in correcting flattened cheek pads in the malar area.

Answer: Fat transfer with facelift Thanks for the question.A mini-facelift will give a more powerful result for the jowls and neck than just using fat alone. I usually always transfer fat when doing a facelift. The facelift will rejuvenate the neck, jaw line, and lower cheeks. The fat will then help to augment the cheeks, blunt the lid/cheek border, and help to fill the nasolabial folds. I also think that the fat transfer helps the overlying skin as well, but not everyone would agree with that.If your physician is willing to transfer the fat when doing the mini-facelift. I would go for it!I hope this helps. Congratulations on moving forward with your facelift.

Answer: Fat grafting and mini facelifts Fat grafting and mini faceliftsEvery operation should be individualized. Three areas need to be considered . The first is laxity of skin and muscle which the facelift corrects. The next is a volume which the fat improves when needed. Finally, the surface of the skin should be evaluated for texture Color

Answer: Fat transfer and mini facelift Fat transfer is not required at the time of a mini facelift. Your experience with early reabsorption of your transferred fat is not uncommon. It is possible that if you have a fat transfer repeated that your experience will be similar. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Addressing different parts of aging As our face ages we lose volume, tissues descend with gravity, and our skin accrues photodamage in the form of pigment, fine wrinkles, blood vessels, etc. Volumizing with fillers and fat is aimed at the loss of volume, whereas lifts are really just redistributing tissues back up to where they used to be. You can do them at the same time, you can do them separately, it doesn't matter, but it's likely you can benefit from both (and addressing your skin aging) since all those three facets of aging tend to happen together.
