What could cause my right eye to suddenly appear bigger than my left eye? (photos)

My eyes use to be about the same size, but recently I've noticed--more noticeable on pictures--that my right eye appears to be bigger than my left eye and my nose seems a little crooked now as well. My face looks a bit asymmetrical.

Hello Jamirenelle,Thanks for your question.Normal faces have asymmetry.A sudden change in shape or position of your eye might indicate a medical problem, such as thyroid disease. I would recommend that you see your medical doctor for a check up and evaluation.  If necessary, a consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon could then be arranged if surgical treatment is warranted.Good luck,Dr. Shah

Your right eye appears more bulgy. The most common cause of acquired proptosis (bulging eye) is thyroid eye disease but there are other causes. Best to see an oculoplastic specialist for evaluation.

not knowing which you looked like before, that's important question to ask. It seems to me that you have a mild sagging of the left upper eyelid making that look smaller than the right. As far as your nose shifting, it's hard to tell from a photograph. The most important thing would be to have a consultation with a physician who will examine your face. It may be necessary to order imaging studies such as a CAT scan if the physician feels that there may be a mass growing.
