Dermatologist messed up my face by using Voluma and then 6 months later Ultherapy. Should I be compensated?

Dr. did Voluma in June and urged me to get ultherapy in Oct. right before treatment, she said it would melt filler. melted most of it, but not all and then there were weird bumps and planes under eyes. bought more filler to compensate. didn't work. 3 sessions of trying to remove all filler. almost gone except 3 hard nodules of filler in both eyes that is visible, extra lines under eyes and bags that weren't there. Spent 8K and still need to fix it.

Theres is absolutely no evidence that fillers get melted or changed by ultherapy. If anything they actually help them work better, especially sculptra for the collagen production. I suggest you show before and after photos so we can give you an acurate opinion.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Sorry to hear about your experience with Ultherapy and Voluma. We use Ultherapy and Voluma in combination a lot without any of the complications you mentioned. Ideally, I do Ultherapy first and then Voluma about a month after. If the Voluma is injected properly then it is really not in the field of Ultherapy treatment and therefore unaffected. Also, Voluma is injected just above the bone, and Ultherapy in the cheek area should not go deep enough to where it would melt the filler. I think the main issue with your situation is that you are dealing with someone who is not experienced in either treatment. If your problem still needs fixing I would recommend you find an experienced physician who can help you.

No, you do not deserve compensation. There is no proof, let alone direct evidence, that Ultherapy interacts directly with fillers.
