Selecting the most appropriate breast implant size for breast augmentation is a personal decision that ultimately you have to make. An in-person consultation with implant sizing is best.

It depends on your height, weight and breast base width diameter.

To be sure what might be right for you, see two or more experienced, board-certified Plastic Surgeons for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery.

Based on what you are describing, you appear to be a good candidate for breast augmentation, but it is difficult to tell definitively without an in-person examination and seeing the photos.
Implant size discussion and implant selection is one of the most important steps during your consultation with plastic surgeon. The decision-making process depends on your desires, as well as breast and soft tissue dimensions of your chest wall. I also utilize Vectra 3D planning to further help with implant selection.
The breast implants are typically placed under the muscle to provide more soft tissue coverage using a small incision at the breast fold.
I would seek an in-person evaluation by the Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results.

Thank you for your question. There are multiple formulas used to decide the “perfect” implant size for each individual. Some surgeons have great results using these formulas. Personally, I do not believe that all patient’s desires fit into a standardized formula. Therefore there are multiple ways to make sure you and your surgeon are on the same page as to your goals. These include trying on implants, showing him ideal pictures from other patients, and other options. Good luck

Implant sizing can be confusing! Many plastic surgeons use different methods to select the ideal implant. This can be especially confusing if you've had more than one consultation.
Having an opportunity to discuss what "look" you want to achieve with your surgeon important as it will help your surgeon understand your aesthetic goals. There is generally a fairly narrow range of implants that will be a good fit for your chest dimensions. The 'look' can then be customized to achieve your goals by discussing the range of shapes and sizes that are a good fit for your body.
"Inspiration photos" can also help ensure that you and your surgeon have the same visual image in mind when you are discussing your ideal shape and volume.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Unfortunately it is impossible to recommend the best implant style, size or shape without an in-person examination that allows for the measurement of key breast parameters, as well as permits an in-depth discussion as to your desired goals and outcome. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. It is not possible to select the perfect implant for you based on your measurements alone. I encourage you to return to your surgeon's office to further discuss your surgery goals. Many surgeons have sample implants in the office that you can "try on" to give you an idea of how you may look after surgery. You can also look through before/after photos to point out characteristics you like or dislike. Keep in mind that you are unique, as are the patients in the photos, so a certain look cannot necessarily be duplicated. But it can give your surgeon important information on how to help you get the look you are wanting.

Measurements are just part of the things used to determine what size is best. Your surgeon who has examined you and select the range of sizes that best fits your frame and tissue. You can try on these sizes and then see what size you actually like.

The measurements are intended to realize the available space to accommodate the implant. I say to the patients that is like if you are looking for a furniture, and I have to make sure if it is possible to put it into the room. Too big or too small?, it will depend on your perception about it. Once I realized that, I let my patients choose the size. Since then (many years ago), all the patients are happy with their look. We have sizers, and the patients try each one of them until they feel comfortable with one or two sizes. Then we help them to decide. If you let your surgeon (or spouse, friend, relative, etc.) to decide for you, the chances that the implant is too big or too small for you (even thought they really like the result), increase exponentially. So, my best advice is that you choose the size, and let the surgeon tell you if it is possible to fit based on your chest measurements.
