Older candidates for mommy makeover, possible or not?

I'm not sure why that surgeon says that. If you are otherwise healthy,your blood pressure is under good control, you would likely find a board certified plastic surgeon who would perform cosmetic surgery on you. I commonly perform mommy makeovers in patients around your age. Consider obtaining another consultation.

Far more important than deciding if MM is for you is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let him explain why one technique may be better than another and if you need a tummy tuck. Many board certified plastic surgeons provide a free first time consult and you should take advantage of that!

It sounds as if you should be a reasonable candidate for a mommy makeover. Your age is only part of your surgical risk. If you are otherwise healthy I see no reason why a 55 year old woman could not have this surgery.

Your age by itself will not prevent you from having a mommy makeover.  I
would search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel is
most likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds of
these procedures each year. I would look at patient reviews as well as

I can't say why your plastic surgeon said that. If you are in good health, 55-65 is not old! I recommend that you seek out another opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon.

I agree that the majority of RS community is younger but I wouldn't interpret this to mean that women 55 and older are not seeking cosmetic surgery and getting great results.  Your overall health, anatomy, goals and expectations are much more important considerations than your age.  Well-controlled high blood pressure in itself should not prevent a person from having a mommy makeover, although your PS would likely want to ensure you had a proper cardiac assessment by your family doctor or other specialists, and are cleared for surgery.

Dear RealmeAlthough age does have an impact on the extent and type of procedures that are performed, your health and physical condition are perhaps just as , if not more important. Seek advice/consultation from a well trained and Board certified Plastic surgeon. I think you may be pleasantly surprised!!

If you are in general good health and otherwise a candidate for the planned procedures you can absolutely have a Mommy Makeover at your age and older. As safety is always the number one priority, you may be asked to undergo some lab work or tests to ensure you are safe for surgery. I've included a video on this topic that I hope you find helpful.

If you are in good health and have a reasonable goal, then there are plenty of plastic surgeons who would be willing to help you. My oldest breast augmentation patient was 72 and she came back for a tummy tuck when she was 75! Lose the last few pounds, focus on nutrition and cardiovascular health, and go get a few consultations. Using the ASAPS surgeon finder is a good way to find a qualified surgeon in your area.
