I have already had vaginal rejuvenation and a rectocele repair and am completely healed. I have seen it said that if you are a weight lifter you shouldn’t have this surgery. Is this true? Will it affect my results if I do weight lifting? I just would like to know if there are any limitations when working out to avoid causing laxity in my pelvic floor.
Answer: Heavy lifting after from vaginal tightening and rectocele repair Hello, if you have not had a surgical uterine prolapse procedure, there is no restriction on lifting weights after full recovery after rectocele, cystocele, labioplast and vaginal tightening surgeries. The reason for this restriction is that the strain reflex is accompanied by difficulty in heavy exercises. I recommend that you do kegel exercises at the same time as doing weight exercises.

Answer: Vaginal Rejuvenation Recovery Hi, thank you for your question. It takes up to a year before you can see the final results of your surgery, and recovery looks different for everyone. Following a vaginal repair, you should refrain from any vaginal insertion for 6 weeks, including intercourse and tampons. You should also avoid heavy lifting and exerting yourself too greatly as this may negatively affect your healing. I would recommend voicing your concerns to your surgeon to determine if there are additional precautions you need to take.

Answer: HEAVY LIFTING AFTER VAGINAL REJUVENATION Thank you for your questionThe answer depends on the type and quality of the repairs you received. A good solid repair should not be affected by weight lifting. There is no procedure called vaginal rejuvenation. It is the effect of any number of procedures that make the vagina more "youthful", so the quality of the repairs depend on the method(s) used. Site specific defect repair is probably the most efficient . Discuss the issue with your surgeon who would best know the type of procedure performed and the limits you should have.

Answer: Weight lifting is fine after vaginal rejuvenation if done correctly The key to not injuring the pelvic floor is to minimize bearing down. If you have a strong core and are isolating the targeted muscles properly, you should not adversely affect the pelvic floor. If you have not already seen a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist (PFPT), I strongly recommend this. A skilled PFPT can make sure that you are doing these exercises properly.

Answer: Should weightlifters have vaginal rejuvenation and rectocele repair? There's nothing wrong with having vaginal rejuvenation surgery (vaginal tightening aka vaginoplasty) and a rectocele repair if you are a weightlifter. Be aware, however, that intense, heavy weightlifting will put significant stress on the pelvic floor and increase the chance that your repairs will loosen. If you have other factors that increase the chance for the repairs to loosen such as obesity, chronic cough, constipation, smoking, fisting, large sex toys, vaginal childbirth after your repairs, you might want to address them as much as possible to avoid "breaking the camel's back".
