Can lip fillers cause blindness? Will icing the area to constrict blood vessels help minimize this risk?

I’ve seen a couple of doctors online say it’s possible to go blind from even lip filler no matter how qualified the person performing the procedure is, is this true!? Also would icing the area first to constrict the blood vessels help prevent this?

Hi @elena1200, You can inject a few units of Botox into the DAO muscle. Treatment will cause the corners of the mouth to be slightly lifted, giving the mouth a more relaxed, happy, youthful and pleasing appearance. You would likely repeat this treatment a few times a year.
VO risk in lips can be minimised if your medical professional uses a cannula instead of a needle.Cannula has a blunt tip and is much safer. Also VO in lips does not lead to blindness and can be reversed immediately with hyaluronidase
Hi there,
You need to have a consult with a plastic surgeon that very well could be granulomas or scar tissue and any dissolver would not help.
See an expert! Best of luck...
