Answer: Insurance will not cover tummy tuck surgery Sorry to hear you are having pain. Insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures. Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that is not performed to relieve pain. Your insurance may cover surgery to address your pain if it is related to a hernia or neuroma. Best of luck,Trey Aquadro, M.D.

Answer: Insurance Will Not Pay for a Tummy Tuck Insurance companies do not cover costs associated with cosmetic surgery, such as a tummy tuck. Sometimes insurance companies will help cover costs associated with a panniculectomy, which involves removing an apron ("pannus") of abdominal skin that hangs down over the pubic region and causes symptoms such as rashes, infections, and ulcerations. Sorry to hear about your chronic pain. Sometimes a nerve can be entrapped after a c section, and there are treatments for this. A tummy tuck would not likely help your pain. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Will medical insurance cover a Tummy Tuck if there has been muscle damage? I am sorry about the problem you are experiencing. Sometimes, insurance companies may authorize exploratory procedures to rule out neuroma as a source of your abdominal wall pain after C-section. I have never had them authorize tummy tuck surgery. In other words, insurance companies do not consider this operation medically necessary. Sometimes, however insurance companies will cover excision of lower abdominal wall skin/apron; this operation is called a panniculectomy. Best wishes.

Answer: Pain after C-Section You should be seen by a pain specialist to accurately diagnose your pain. It is not clear to me how pain after a C-Section would be treated by an abdominoplasty. If the scar iteslf is causing you pain, then perhaps a more simple scar revision would help.
