Medial canthal folds and hollowed eyelids after upper blepharoplasty - can this be fixed? (photos)

Hello! I stupidly had an upper eyelid surgery and a canthopexy abroad one year ago, all I wanted was a subtle refresh of my eyes as I loved the initial shape. My eyes now look hollow with unnaturally high creases and medial folds. I'm keen to avoid drastic corrective surgery as I am young - would upper eyelid filler bring improvement? Also how risky is Z-plasty/epicanthoplasty on its own to improve webbing? Would the tight inner corners go away as I get older with massage ?

You had know idea that aesthetic eyelid surgery could harm your appearance. Z-plasty/epicanthoplasty would be tragic for you. It is the wrong choice for your situation. Many well known surgeons would advocate upper eyelid fillers. These will not be right. What you needed with your original surgery was a bilateral upper eyelid ptosis repair. That ptosis actually causes a compensatory eyebrow elevation. Your ptosis is actually worse after surgery but you do not see this due to the canthopexy. Rather than stabilizing the outer corners of the eyelid, the left lateral canthus is now blunted and contributes to rounding of the left eye. This allows the upper eyelid margin to ride up. The canthus needs to be repaired  with a repair of the upper eyelid ptosis. Also you need crease lowering to help restore the upper eyelid folds. What is challenging is that this type of work is not available where you live. Your eyes can still be your best feature.

Hello and thank you for your question @MayaCleo, I suggest you consider non surgical treatments, specifically hyaluronic acid to help fill in those irregularities left by the previous procedure. You need fillers bur not in the upper eyelid but the lower eyelid. An Z-plasty/epicanthoplasty would be far more too aggressive and could achieve the opposite effect. About your last question yes, massaging the area can improve and release those areas where there is tension because it releases the tissues in the long run. I hope this shed some light! Best wishes.
