I had lipo 360 in 2021. During the healing process I developed a seroma. What’s left is scar tissue I can’t get rid of. One side of my stomach is poking out more where I had the seroma. Can another round of lipo fix this or tummy tuck?
Answer: Seroma Dear sexylele445, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Lipo or Tummy Tuck on a Patient With Previous Lipo Thank you for your question regarding a seroma that developed after liposuction. By examining your photos, it looks like you have an excess skin problem, not an excess fat problem. Liposuction would only make this problem worse. A tummy tuck would help address the excess skin, tighten your abdominal muscles, and bring in your waistline by 3 to 5 inches. This would give you a more hourglass shape. This would also include a mons or FUPA reduction. I hope this helps to answer your question about whether you should get another round of Lipo or opt for a tummy tuck instead. I wish you the best of luck. Thank you.

Answer: Seroma developed after liposuction - can another round of lipo fix this? The only 1 posted photo demonstrates two issues. #1. fibrosis/seroma post lipo; #2. Excess wrinkled skin. In my opinion only a full TT with muscle plication can effectively improve the results. Expect fees $8,000+. Best to virtual consult with...

Answer: Treatment of a seroma Your post does not tell us if your seroma was treated or not. As seroma should be treated aggressively as soon as it’s identified. This generally means either having a drain placed, or having it aspirated using a syringe and needle or small Liposuction Cannula on a regular basis until no more fluid buildup accumulates. The frequency of draining this Roma should be as often as possible. In a perfect world it would be done daily. If its aroma is not treated aggressively incorrectly early after surgery, scar tissue, capsule forms around the fluid collection creating a chronic seroma. A chronic seroma can no longer be treated with aspiration, but needs to be treated by direct surgical excision with the placement of a drain. The surgery needs to include removing the entire scar tissue capsule. It’s unclear if you still have a chronic Sarama or not. I suggest you follow up with your provider or schedule in person second opinion consultations. Patient should be prepared for inperson second opinion, consultations bringing with the proper before and after pictures as well as a copy of your operative report. If you had a seroma, then you should also have progress notes or indications that was treated. These are all part of your medical record, which you have a right to get a copy of if you contact if you are surgeons office. To make an assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we always need to see proper before and after pictures. Consider always posting before and after pictures when you are requesting an opinion regarding the outcome of a procedure. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
