I had a facelift in December ‘22 and the fat injections he recommended for under my eyes, bulge, are still bruised and unsightly. My neck is now crepey as well. Help!!
Answer: Fat buiges underneath eyes: how to treat? You have a challenging problem. There is always some skin relaxation after surgery and the neck creepiness probably Woukd require a secondary neck lift to correct. The bulges coukd be excess fat or fluid and that can only be dertermined by physical exam. I have seen swelling g in that area due to inflammation persist for more than a year. Sometimes dilute steroid injections can help and sometimes direct surgical removal with a lower blepharoplasty is necessary. I would be cautious about the use of Kybella iinjections in that area. I Woukd seek more than one opinion with a very experienced surgeons.

Answer: Fat bulges under eyes. How can I treat this? Only 1 posted photo of orbits/eyes? No neck photos??? Re post, please. As for over injected fat in tear troughs, can dissolve with very diluted KyBella injection and after few months try HA fillers injected in correct areas. As for neck, since no posted photos can only guess you need at least a mini neck lift? Best to virtual consult with.....

Answer: Cosmetic surgery outcome To make an assessment on the outcome of the plastic surgery procedure we need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. Fat transfer can be inconsistent, unpredictable, and unforgiving. I generally recommend patients stick with the use of fillers, though it’s not uncommon for plastic surgeons to graft fat, especially in conjunction with a facelift. I recommend patients that plastic surgeons carefully before having surgical intervention. I generally recommend patients of multiple in person consultations before choosing a provider. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their Entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patient who had similar characteristics to your own. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at the before and after pictures of at least 15 previous patients. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results of a providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what I want to result in the hands of each provider. In the end, generally only two variables really matter when it comes to quality outcomes. The first is the patient’s candidacy for the procedure, and the second is the skill of the provider. There isn’t much you can do regarding your candidacy for any one specific procedures, but with patients do have control over his provider selection. Being bored, certified in plastic surgery, with years of experience, does not mean if somebody has mastered anyone single procedure. Patients should be highly selective and take the vetting of plastic surgeons seriously. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider but considering how much variation in there seems to be and the impact of poorly done procedures, I recommend patient consider having five consultations to before scheduling surgery. Revision work is generally more difficult and complex than primary procedures. Find someone to consider for revision work you should be highly selective.Removing previously grafted fat in the face can be difficult. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
