I went to the surgeon in Paris, TN, and he recommended that I see someone that specializes in breast reconstruction. He felt that my breasts weren’t necessarily tubular, but that they do have construction that would need correcting, and possibly a lift before implants. Also possibly having two surgeries to stretch then implant because of the possible lack of volume if I did both at once. Also worried about added costs on top of augmentation. Planning more consultations soon.

Answer: Challenging breast Your candidacy for breast augmentation is limited. You have significant breast divergence and the distance between your nipple and IMF(infra mammary fold) is short. The variables that limit your candidacy for augmentation will be put on display with the projection of the implants. Your outcome is not going to look ideal and you need to ask yourself if you’re willing to have that kind of outcome There is no easy procedure to give you a great looking breast augmentation. The chance of you wanting or needing revision surgery is fairly high. I think your sergeant was wise and not simply scheduling you for surgery. Look for plastic surgeons who do most of the breast cancer reconstruction in your community. It may be difficult to find examples of previous patients who had similar breast characteristics to your own to show you what your results are likely to look like. The divergence Will be amplified, and the nipple will always look like it’s sitting low with most of the implant sitting above the nipple. Opening up, the IMF increases the chance of having implants bottom out. I would be especially cautious using large implants. Ideally, you’d find a provider who can show you before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar breast characteristics. I too, would be reluctant to move forward with breast augment Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
