Masturbation After Tummy Tuck?

Hiya. I'm a guy that recently had a tummy tuck & removal of excess skin in the breast & two incisions around the pubic mound that are connected to the "belt scar". About a week post op, but I've been having erections just as frequently, and morning erections starting 2 days post op. I'm not sure if it's healthy to maintain the erection, so I usually wait until they disappear. However, I feel the urge to masturbate as well during the day, but am not sure if it is safe. I can wait, but should I?

The safest answer would be 6 weeks as that is when you have the majority of wound healing by then. Prior to that time you can cause a tear where ever stitches were placed - inside or out. It would probably be OK to masturbate at 3 weeks, but again there may be some risk.

Check with your surgeon about what activities are OK 1 week after surgery. I instruct my patients to gradually move into activities as long as it doesn't cause any discomfort for them or disrupt the area of surgery. As your surgeon knows best exactly what was done, they would be best to advise you. Good luck.
