Question

I have a long history of being mistaken for angry. I have had fillers a few times, but it would be nice to have something more permanent done. Are there many surgeons doing this procedure?

Hello nmaishaThis lift is along the outer edge of the upper lip to the corner is used to raise the corner of the mouth. This improves the look of despair. The small incision is closed with dissolving sutures and can be covered with make-up within the week. All sutures dissolve. The procedure is performed in the office under a local anaesthetic in less than an hour.

I perform this lift very often , as a sole procedure, or in combination with a facelift or a midfacelift.  It is an effective procedure, which make people get rid of the grumpy down look. 
It is not to be confused with a central upper lip lift, where the scar is underneath the base of the nose, at the nostril sill level.
The Grin lift can be done under local anesthesia and takes me on average 40 minutes.

A corner of the mouth lift can level out the smile line and mouth corners. Several types exist include the pennant technique and the extended vermilion version. The choice of corner of mouth lift is a balance between how downturned the mouth corners are and the location/length of the fine line scars for correction.
