There are a few things that you can do after lip lift/rhino to ensure your healing. I like to tell patients that 80% of what how you heal happens during the procedure - the other 20% happens over the next couple weeks. The most important thing is mouth rest. Stretching the incision will only cause more tension and, therefore, more scarring. I personally like using either Siligen or Biocorneum 3 weeks after surgery. Once daily, at night. Scarring after lip lift and rhinoplasty tend to be minimal. Whereas I do strongly recommend powerful steroid cream for reduction of scars on the body, such creams cannot be used on the face because the skin is so thin. Whereas there are numerous items on the market for reduction of scars, the most effective are steroids, pressure, and silicone sheeting, none of which are really practical for scars of the face. I really wish I could give you a different answer, but this is the reality. Fortunately, your facial scars will fade soon enough on their own.
