Hair transplant in Turkey for a HIV positive patient.

Hello I am a Brazilan transgender and i am hiv positiv , i want to be treated in Turkey as some of my friends were treated there and they are very satisfied with the results. I contacted some clinics but they all said that they can't treat me considering i am hiv positive . Is there any doctor here that is willing to treat me and that is the cost ?

Hello,HIV is not a factor for recovery and hair transplantation.  For many patients who have HIV, they are undetectable making transmission to others less likely, as well as operative staff utilizing universal precautions.  We have operated on many HIV positive patients without any healing issues.

If you are in good health, there is no reason why you cannot have a hair transplant surgery, even if you are HIV positive.  Some doctors may decline to perform surgery on HIV patients but that is mostly an ethical issue.

HIV isn't a reason to restrict you from getting a hair transplant. Assuming you have it managed well and are in good health it's not a problem. Make sure your doctor is aware of all your prior medical history so they can recommend you post care instructions accordingly.

Being HIV+ in and of itself should not be an absolute contraindication to hair transplantation, if you are otherwise healthy and the HIV is under control.

If you do opt to go to Turkey, be diligent with your research and assure you are seeing a real doctor, not just a technician.
