please consult your physician.  Typically if deep sutures are left in a skin glue or external stitches with steristrips are added on top.  If you are concerned of the wound opening, it should be evaluated and skin care started.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hello Bailey Burkhardt,Your deeper sutures are designed to last a few weeks up to a few months, depending on which one was used.  In your case, it looks the skin at the top has broken down.  This is more common on the back because it is under more tension.  This area would benefit from topcial treatments to help with the healing process at this point.  I'd recommend you follow up with your surgeon so he or she can initiate appropriate treatment.I hope this helps and good luck.
