I'm not sure if I have thick or thin nasal skin, but I have a bulbous/droopy tip and thats one of the main things I want to change about my nose, I heard that if you have thick nasal skin the tip will always be bigger after surgery. Is this true?
Answer: Thick nose skin and rhinoplasty Having thick nasal skin doesn't preclude you from having rhinoplasty. We would likely be more limited as to how small we could make your nose, but that doesn't mean that you couldn't have surgery at all.You can read more about bulbous nose rhinoplasty at my web reference link below.

Answer: If I have thick nasal skin, can I still get rhinoplasty? In general, patients with thick nasal skin will not always achieve the level of definition they desire, but great improvements can still be made. In general, it may take 18-24 months to see the final result of rhinoplasty. Swelling following surgery can depend on the following factors:1) Thickness of the nasal skin2) Whether the procedure was open or closed3) Whether tip work was performed 4) Whether the surgery was a revisionI would recommend a consult with a board certified and experienced rhinoplasty specialist. He or she will be able to make a recommendation after assessing your nose in person. Computer imaging software may be used to morph a photo of you; this will give you a general idea of how the final result of surgery may appear. I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Answer: If I have thick nasal skin, can I still get rhinoplasty? Patients with thick nasal skin have great results from rhinoplasty all the time. The key is to find a surgeon that will give you a good outcome with a nose that is harmonious with the rest of your face and fits who you are. The parts of the nose have to fit each other and have too fit your face. Look for expereinced and well trained surgeons. see more than one consult and make a well informed decision.

Answer: Thick skin Having thick sking at the nasal tip entails two features:-the internal work should be overcorrected and intentionally made over visible, the thick blanket of dermis above the new skeletong will moderate the final visible result-it is true that the final refinement is never as defined as in other patients with lesser derman thickness

Answer: Rhinoplasty for drooping and bulbous tip with thick skin Thick skin can impede a very refined result on the tip of the nose. It's important to have realistic expectations about what can and cannot be accomplished with the rhinoplasty procedure. Thick skinned individuals usually require some cortisone shots in tip of the nose to prevent swelling from occurring In the postoperative few months after the surgery. The bulbous tip is addressed with suture techniques applied to the lower lateral cartilages of the tip. For many examples and more information, please see the video and the link below
