Thank you for your question botox lynda. I understand your concern. Botoxis a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facialexpression. I recommend that my patients avoid foods or medications that thin the blood for a few days before and after a treatment. The ingredients in the products should be checked for such blood thinners. Common ones include aspirin, ginko biloba, and vitamin E. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
The supplements you mention should not interfere with risk of bruising. However, there are some supplements that I generally recommend stopping a few weeks prior to injectables. These raise your risk of bruising. They include the following: fish oil, garlic ginko biloba, vit E, aspirin, and pain medications with ibuprofen. By avoiding these types of products prior to your treatment, bruising risk is minimized and you will be happier.
Hello botox lynda,Thank you for sharing your question with us. There would be no problem using the supplements you have mentioned prior to or after Botox injections. The main concern with certain supplements (fish oil, St. Johns Wort), Aspirin or other NSAIDS is a potential increased risk for bruising. Continue to live your healthy lifestyle and enjoy your Botox results. Be well.

I cannot think of any adverse interaction with the substances you mention and botulinum toxin. You should be safe to proceed
Thank you for your excellent question. The supplements that you mentioned should be just fine to take prior to receiving Botox. I recommend that my patients avoid NSAIDS, aspirins and fish oil for 3-5 days prior to a planned injectable procedure in order to minimize the risk for bruising. Please be sure to see an expert injector for an in-person consultation to fully discuss your concerns and your goals and expectations in order to determine the best treatment plan. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Thank you for your question. There should be no contraindication to taking probiotics, green tea, or apple cider vinegar prior to Botox injections. That said, certain herbal and nutritional supplements can increase your risk of bruising with cosmetic injections. I would recommend reviewing your medications and supplements with your dermatologist or plastic surgeon prior to your Botox treatment. Best of luck!

Small amounts of Botox Cosmetic® injected into the skin above the lip to soften fine lines there (a.k.a "smoker's lines") have also been known to evert the lip as a happy side-effect when the treatment is performed by an experienced injector. However, I would not count on Botox Cosmetic® as a s...
