How are Radiesse butt lifts done vs Sculptra?

I'm seeing more and more doctors posting about Radiesse butt lifts (instead of Sculptra). What would they be diluting the Radiesse with and do they use the same dilutions and Sculptra? At a consultation, I was told I would need 6-10 vials of Sculptra per side. Is the same true for Radiesse or would I need more than 6-10 per side? Finally, if you had to choose between Sculptra vs. Radiesse, what would you choose? I don't have enough fat for a fat transfer, unfortunately.

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. For a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), we inject fat into the buttock for contouring and lifting. Cellulite should also be treated with a combination of Cellfina, subcision, and/or fillers such as Bellafill, Renuva synthetic fat, or Sculptra. Overall, you need a full assessment to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. I personally prefer using Sculptra for butt lifts. Sculptra is primarily made from a PLLA compound which is made by the body to help firm muscles. Sculptra also stimulates new collagen production for youthful results that last longer than other dermal fillers. Radiesse for butt lift to stimulate collagen is diluted with saline solution (salt water) or lidocaine (local anesthetic used for numbing).  The amount of product is 1.5 ml (1 syringe) per side.  The two products are totally different.  Both have been used in the face for a number of years but the indication for buttock lifting is relatively new.  Sculptra is more expensive but longer lasting.

Thanks for your question.  I would recommend Sculptra if you are looking for a longer lasting solution, but Radiesse has been popular in the literature lately.  I would recommend consultation with an expert in body conturing, as many patients can find some fat somewhere that can be injected in the buttocks. The problem with either is the volume of product involved and that they are not permanent.   This makes filler a very costly solution.   Neither is diluted prior to injection.
