With the harsh winter weather and the constant use of heaters, my skin looks absolutely parched. No amount of topical products seem to help. As I currently already get restylane in my tear troughs, I wanted to inquire about the use of dermal fillers to help with hydration. I've heard that this is a thing. What is it called and how does it work? From my understanding, a syringe or two is injected in small amounts all over. Is it then massaged? I'd love to know if this is an option for me!
Answer: Can a HA filler be used all over your face to help with dry skin and hydration? Hyaluronic acid fillers are best used to volumunize facial structures that have sustained volume loss, they are not well suited to treat dry, dehydrated skin. You can use hyaluronic acid based topical preparations to help with dry and dehydrated skin.

Answer: Fillers for Dry Skin Thank you for your question. Although it may seem counter-intuitive, hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers are not viable to use for dry, dehydrated skin. I would recommend utilizing a moisturizer containing hyaluronic acid or a pure hyaluronic acid to apply to your skin daily. If the dryness persists, I recommend seeing a dermatologist to assess your skin. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Hyaluronic acid for dry skin Yes you are absolutely right. Although not technically a "filler", hyaluronic acid can be injected all over the face in order to provide much-needed moisturisation. There are several benefits to this treatment, which as you say involves 2 mls injected every six months. Hyaluronic acid itself stimulates new collagen formation, it hydrates and enhances all biochemical processes, and the microtrauma of the needle also stimulates new skin growth through the effect of growth factors. Most of the major filler companies now make such a product; they are known as Skinboosters, or Juvederm Volite and are a fantastic way of keeping your face nice without changing the proportions.
