Can IPL pro-longed treatment possibly cause Hypothyroidism or Thyroid Nodules?

I have been getting IPL Lase Genesis treatments for past 2-3 years. Recently I noticed an enlargement in my left side of the neck. I never had any problems with my Thyroid and no such condition runs in my family. I did few tests and discovered I have a 6 cm in length and 3 cm in width Cyst on my left lobe in addition to 2 or 3 solid nodules.

The order of treatment for IPL vs chemical peel does not really matter. Wait a month between treatments and you should be fine. Best of luck!

This is normal depending on how strong the treatment, it can last up to 6 weeks. LED therapy, oral or injectable steroids, and sun protection help to limit this.  Best, Dr. Emer.
