IPL Laser treatment for hyperpigmentation (dark circles/raccoon eyes) after a Rhinoplasty? Middle Eastern decent

Hello, I'm 8 weeks post op and I have hyperpigmentation under my eyes. At my one month post op appointment I discussed this with my doctor and he suggested IPL laser treatment to help speed up the healing process. I understand that this will eventually subside on its own, but could take months. So will the IPL laser treatment really be worth it or am I risking scars or burns since I am of middle eastern decent?

Dark circles under the eyes can be caused by many different factors.  These include volume loss, increased vascularity, and increased pigmentation.  Only the latter two reasons can be addressed with IPL.  Additionally, in your skin type, I would advise to proceed with caution when considering IPL.  It can certainly be applied, but make sure your provider is an experienced user who can minimize the chance of a burn given your skin type.  Good luck!

The main thing to consider before you start your treatments
is to have a consult with a reputable dermatologist/facial/plastic surgeon. My
practice has been considered by Lumenis lasers to be a Lumenis laser center of
