IPL or peel first?

I find that its best to do peels and then wait a few weeks and do IPL.  However, in my practice i am doing less ipl and peels and more microneedling and clear + brilliant or fraxels with great results.  I suggest seeing someone that offers both short and long antiaging treatments.  IPL and peels do not do much for antiaging.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The order of treatment for IPL vs chemical peel does not really matter. Wait a month between treatments and you should be fine. Best of luck!

Thank you for your question. Generally peels are done before IPL treatments. In some cases pigmentation can be resolved with chemical peels vs laser treatments. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeons office for the treatment plan that is best for you.

Having a little more information about your skin and what type of chemical peel will help to answer this more specific to you and your concerns. An IPL(Intense Pulsed Light) can be preformed first lifting the darker pigmented lesion to the surface and then followed by a  chemical peel anywhere from one week to two weeks after to assist in the exfoliation process. Every patients skin is unique and your provider should be able to customize your treatment plan based on your Aesthetic goals.
