Wedding invite exactly 2 weeks post surgery. Do I have to wear a sports bra? (Photo)

Thank you for your question and photographs. It sounds like you are doing well in your early recovery period. I typically have my patients wear a support bra for 6 weeks post-operative. I do allow my patients to remove their support bra for a few hours at a time during the initial 6 week period as long as they are not exercising or performing activities that require heavy lifting. I think it is best for you to discuss this with your surgeon, as he is the one managing your care. Hope this helps!

You should talk to your surgeon but I would be OK with you wearing any bra for short amounts of time after surgery.

Wearing the correct bra after a breast augmentation will help with support, swelling and sometimes help prevent malposition of the implant. Ask your surgeon what she/he recommends. If you do go without full support for one night, make you do not wear a bra with an underwire.  

It should be no problem to wear a standard bra for one night and then go back to your surgeon's recommendations.  Just run this by him.  Congratulations on your nice results!

Hi Jen, Thank you for sharing your excellent question about wearing a compression garment post breast augmentation surgery.  This is a great question to ask your board certified plastic surgeon.  In our office we like our patients to refrain from increasing their heart rate for about 4--6 weeks post op as well as to wear their compression garment for the corresponding time.  In some cases we are ok with removing the garment for short periods of time only, however I still encourage you to speak with your surgeon directly.I hope this has been

Thank you for posting your question and photos.  You appear to be healing well.  Check with your surgeon but you should be able to wear a regular bra (no underwire) or go bra-less for a short period of time for a wedding.  Best wishes. 

You paid good money for your enhanced look, and need to follow your surgeon's instructions. Ask your doctor what kind of bra you should be wearing, and when can you remove it. You don't appear to be wearing a sports bra in your photo.

Most surgeons will recommend wearing some sort of support that doesnt cut into the fold or where the incision may be. That being said, it is certainly ok to go for short periods in something less-than-supportive for certain functions etc. However, good support is necessary in the early going so that the implants situate correctly in the pocket. Hope this helps!
