Curly and hard hair 1 year post op FUE.

In some cases the transplanted hair may grow out with a different texture.  This may be a technical problem during surgery or an inherent patient related problem.  In general it will improve over time.

Most of our patients see the majority of hair growth in the first six months, and in the second six months the transplanted hair matures.  What this means is that in the second six months the hair begins to feel and look like the native hair around it. If you are at the 1 year mark, you are a little behind schedule, but I would expect the transplanted hair to lose some of the curl soon.

Regrowing hair is thin, undersized and not bright untill 4-5 th months of hair transplant. İt's normal for new growing hair starting to get native characteristics, waviness, curl in first 4-5 months..This actually takes 10-13 months for hair to become full mature , as thick and bright  as native hair. 

Many times if follicles are not handled properly during surgery and even sometimes if they are, kinking, curling, and coarseness can all occur.  The good news is that most of the time this improves.  Even after a year, you may still have improvement over time.  

Changes in hair character are rare after a hair transplant but they do happen. The cost common is an increase in the wave or curl of the head. Thicker hair than what is in the back of your head is very, very rare. It is likely that what you have not is what you will have going forward.
