CoolSculpting following a full hysterectomy: I have a good handful of excess fat from the weight gain.

Question

I recently had a full hysterectomy in April this year ! 4 months on now my scar is healed but I have a good handful of access fat from the weight gained ! Would I be able to have cool sculpturing done in the area of my abdomin with my scar being upwards right through the centre? I have had this procedure before although last year before having a hysterectomy. Thank you

Thank you for your question.  Without a photograph it is difficult to advise the best procedure for the area that you are describing.  CoolSculpting is intended to change the appearance of the treatment area by delivering controlled cooling at the surface of the skin to break down fat cells that are just beneath the skin.  The applicators may be positioned around the scarred area or perhaps a liposuction procedure would provide a better result.  Best to consult with an experienced technician who will be able to provide both non-surgical and surgical advice.  Good luck.

It is possible to do CoolSculpting in the area where you have the scar.  Due to scar tissue, the results are not predictable in the area of the scar, but may improve the appearance around the area.  You would need to visit a CoolSculpting provider for a consultation to see if they recommend treatment to the area.

The hysterectomy has formed scar tissue which will render the treatment less effective over the surgical scar site  , but overall the applicator will cover additional areas and you will still have improvements. The results over the scar tissue maybe somewhat unpredictable
