Is it normal to still have a scab after 6 weeks post breast augmentation? (photo)

I had a breast augmentation done 6 weeks ago, my left breast is still slightly higher than the other one and I still have a bit of a scab on the scar on my left breast, its not sore or red. I had a bit of whitish pinkish spotting after cleaning the scar. Overall my breast is nice and soft and the swelling is going down nicely. Do I need to be concerned about the scabbing?

Thank you for your question. It is difficult to tell from your photo. It may be a good idea to go and see your plastic surgeon for an in-person assessment.

Having a scab on your incision after 6 weeks may mean that the incision has not fully healed yet. The scab will fall off once everything is healed. If the scab comes off and you have an open wound, I would let your surgeon know so they can evaluate it. In most cases it may just need an antibiotic ointment for a little while until it heals. However, in the worst case, if the wound is full thickness, then your implant may become exposed. If this happens you need to be seen quickly by your surgeon.
