Hi, I just did Botox for marionette lines last week. This week I realised that I hardly talk and smile as the muscle at the chin area pulling it. Then I look at mirror, my chin looks pulling when I talk and smile. I started to felt embarrassing when talking to someone. It looks weird. How long the Botox last? Anything I can do to get my normal mouth movement back? Thanks a lot
Answer: Chin looks weird and hardly smile and talk after Botox on my marionette lines. Thank you for your question. Botox is not indicated for the marionette lines. Consider obtaining a second opinion in person. Allow 3 months for the Botox to wear away. Best,

Answer: Botox Effects Typically Last Between Three To Six Months I'm so sorry that you are having this reaction. The good news is that Botox effects are only temporary and last ordinarily between three to six months. The further good news is that when an adverse reaction such as this occurs, the bulk of the unwanted effects begin to wear off in two to three months, in other words improvement often comes even before all the effects have totally worn off. Hopefully this will be the case for you. I have been injecting Botox for aesthetic purposes since 1991, and although its use for treating marionette lines is nothing new, I seldom use it for this purpose out of concern for possibly causing this kind of unwanted result. Furthermore, it is not nearly as effective as the appropriate use of a volumizing filler for this purpose. You would be wise to be sure in the future to seek consultation with a board certified aesthetic physician with experience and expertise in the advanced uses of volumizing fillers and muscle relaxers for facial rejuvenation. And be sure to ask to see his/her before and after photos before proceeding.

Answer: 3 months to wear off HiThanks for the question. Botox will take 3 months to wear off. I wouldn't suggest getting Botox for marionette lines. Fillers are best. The botox can help turn the corner of the mouth up, but it is a tricky injection because if the botox migrates too much it can hit the lower lip depressors and give you a distorted smileSorry. "The above answer has been given without seeing this patient and cannot be substituted for actual in-person examination and medical advice; it is only opinion. Seek in-person treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriate care."

Answer: Chin looks weird and hardly smile and talk after Botox on my marionette lines Hello Vanessa0583, Botox is not used for the Marionette lines. That is best addressed with fillers. You can use small amounts of Botox to a muscle near the Marionette line (called the DAO) to help turn up a downturned corner of the mouth. You can also use Botox to help with chin dimpling. As far as how long it lasts, it will be about 3 months. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to speed up the process. In the future, I'd recommend you receive your injections from a core physician injector (facial plastic surgery, plastic surgery, dermatology) to help decrease the risk of outcomes like this.I hope this helps and good luck.

Answer: Botox to my marionette lines Botox lasts 3-4 months. There is nothing you can do but wait it out in order to have normal movement again. Marionette lines should be injected with filler and not Botox.
