Tummy tuck / fluid accumulation. What can I do about this?

I’ve seen this situation before and the seroma is actually quite simple to deal with. The surgeon needs to use a drain called a Penrose drain to place in the cavity and let it drain to the outside. This will cause the space to close down in about a week. It’s a truck that surprisingly few surgeons know about but it works like a charm

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. Generally speaking, in case of seroma formation, it can be drained until it reduces. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

I would suggest asking for an ultrasound of your abdomen. You may have developed a seroma that has a thick wall around it. If so, the seroma and thick wall will need to be removed so it won't come back and you will need drains for at least 2 weeks to avoid another collection. Please discuss this with your surgeon.
