I am now almost seven months and I still feel the cut in the boney part where the medial osteotomy was done. Only on one side and it makes my nose look crooked. When will it close?

Answer: Already Healed The osteotomy site itself has already healed in terms of the bony healing process. However it is possible that this step off is both palpable and visible through the skin (common in patients with thin skin). Unfortunately, this bone has already healed this way, but this irregularity may be able to me camouflaged with a cartilage graft.

Answer: Medial osteotomy: : medial osteotomy: your bones have already healed about as much as they are going to. If there is a gap between the septum and one of the nasal bones it may be because that bone has drifted slightly back laterally. In some cases this may occur because the septum between the two nasal bones is not perfectly centered and straight Or because there remained soft tissue attachments and forces pulling the bone back laterally after it was in fractured. In any event this may be visible particularly if the skin is rather thin. If one bone has moved it will make the nose look slightly crooked. When both bones move it makes the bridge look wide and creates the “open roof“ deformity.
