Question

partial buccal fat removed from each cheek and like to place fat into space. How long has buccal fat injection into the buccal space been around? Im not finding any info on the web abt it on how it works. I’m also wondering abt fillers as well. I watched/read abt fillers lasting longer than they should causing water expansion, with also blocking the lymphatics, being hard to dissolve, hydronadase effecting natural collegen, fillers showing on MRIs, fillers taking away a sense of who you are

In order for fat grafting to work there has to be an abundance of host tissue to graft into. On the face this is naturally going to be the subcutaneous plane.

Grafting mid cheek with a blind procedure is likely to end up injecting fat into the parotid gland or other structures.

Maybe you’ll find someone willing to try that but it is not a standard procedure and if you want to stay safe then avoid new unproven procedures without a track record.

All of the negative aspects to fillers you’ve read may or may not be accurate but they are rare cases and millions of patients have HA fillers without consequence on a daily basis.

Solid-based fillers will definitely show up on radiographic imaging. This is especially true for Radiesse.

With enough volume HA Fillers may also show up on sensitive studies like an MRI bed that has no implication to a negative outcome.

All surgical procedures have some inherent risk. Risk is irrelevant unless put into context of incidence.

Must plastic surgeons with the exception of using fillers are probably not going to be excited about fat transfer to compensate for having buccal fat removal.

You may find some and if you do then it’s up to you if you wanna work with that individual.

The process starts by having in person consultations and then your case you’ll probably need more than one.
