Fat transfer to upper eyelid/brow? Would filler be a better choice?

Can you put fat in the upper eye lid above/on the crease? I used to have a full brow ridge and with age it's deflated and makes my eye look much older. Would filler be a better choice although not long term? Thank you

Thank you for your question. You can put fat in the upper lids if you are hollow in this area; it does not take much as this skin is very thin. You can also add it to the brow and forehead. I recommend consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to further discuss. Best of luck!

This is a really good question. A lot of people do understand how a deflated brow can make someone look older or tired. Most plastic surgeons in patients focus on the under eye. However, when the upper orbital sulcus hollows s out it imparts a very aged appearance. Fat is a great option for restoring youth in this area.

Thank you for your question. Both are often used, and it depends on what you'd like. Fat must be harvested from another location, however, once injected, the result is permanent. Filler doesn't require harvesting of course, but the filler will only last about a year, depending on which product is used. So there isn't a right answer, just whichever sounds more appealing to you.
