So, I guess I wasn't clear with my last question. I have large trapezoid muscles (between my shoulders and neck) and they've been like this all my life. They make me look very masculine and like I have a short neck. I'm wondering if there's possibly a somewhat safe procedure to reduce the size of them and make my neck area look more elegant and long? Although I know it would involved removing muscle. I'm going to attack a picture that obviously isn't me of what muscles I'm talking about.

Answer: Surgery to Reduce Trapezius Muscle Thank you for your question, and the picture of our First Lady for comparison. No, there is not a procedure that is commonly done to reduce the trapezius muscle for cosmetic reasons. The risks of the procedure, and the possible functional problems from reduction aren't worth any kind of benefit.I recommend visiting with a plastic surgeon who may be able to recommend some other treatment modality for you. Best of luck!

Answer: Prominent muscles... how to address them? Thanks for sharing your question. I can appreciate your concern. The decrease of muscle volume is NOT done with lipo. Either resection or Botox injections would help with the problem. I would advise to be away from removing it. Too much risk for the benefit. Finally, make sure that you have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Wishing you the best in your journey
