Can 2% ketoconazole shampoo damage the hair in long term use?

I read Nizoral with ketoconazole 2% is an anti-dandruff shampoo which could contribute to slow down hair loss. But is it really safe for my hair in the long run if I use it as an hair loss treatment (1-2 times a week)? Thank you

Answer: Ketoconazole is an anti fungal medication. There is a "theoretical" anti-androgen property so many people use it for hair loss.
