Is it safe to apply liquid Minoxidil (5%) on the scalp when you have Toppik powder in your hair?

Toppik  hair fibers are an excellent way to augment the appearance of thin hair. However, Toppik fibers will  coat the scalp. This will prevent the absorption of topical minoxidil or any other topical medication. It's important to wash the Toppik on a regular basis to prevent infection. You really want to wash out the Toppik before applying minoxidil otherwise the minoxidil penetration will be blocked to some degree by the Toppik. Some people use very little Toppik and there is really very little blockage that happens if minoxidil is applied over top. However, some people use alot of Toppik and very little minoxidil gets through. If you want to maximize what the minoxidil is trying to do, give the minoxidil a clean Toppik free surface to act on. If you want to apply thr Toppik afterwards that is certainly fine.

It is perfectly safe to use Minoxidil even if you have toppik in your hair. They will be working in tandem to help slow down loss and cover the areas where you have lost hair.

Toppik is inert. If you apply minoxidil first and then the toppik after, then you can get the benefits of both
