I've been trying to research on whether or not there would be side effects to using hair loss concealers like Toppik that contain ammonium chloride and silica. Could inhaling some of these fibers, as I don't think there's a way to prevent inhaling a small amount with each application, cause respiratory problems in the long term?

Finasteride can cause a hair shed at 2 to 3 months that can last up to two to four months in duration. Once the new hair is in place, it should last for several years. Finasteride tends to prolong anagen and the hair should continue to grow. Good luck.Jeff Rapaport MD FAADRealself All-star
Thanks for your question. Finasteride does not provide protection to the genetically susceptible follicles until after the first three months of use. Since you have only been using it for 1.5 months your scalp hair thinning shouldn't be of any significant concern. Just continue...
