Would a rhinoplasty possibly help breathing problems from my septoplasty 2 years ago?

I had a septoplasty 2 years ago with turbinate reduction. I didn’t have problems till about 5 months ago. My snoring is worse than before. Breathing I can feel blockage. Migraines are more frequent and I have post nasal drip quite often now. What options are available with those issues and having a septoplasty 2 years ago now? Would a rhinoplasty possibly help this? Grafts?

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  A revision septoplasty and spreader grafts may be helpful but only an in-person could help determine this.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

You need to have an internal nasal examination to determine what is causing the breathing problem. It’s possible the turninectomy or septoplasty were inadequate or that new tissue has grown inside. I would bet that the problem will be obvious once you are examined.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Apparently something has happened recently to create recurrent nasal airway obstruction. Rhinoplasty is usually performed to change the shape of the nose. Unless severely displaced, the nasal bones will not contribute to airway blockage and rhinoplasty will have no effect. A thorough endonasal examination and perhaps radiographic studies are required to determine if there is recurrent septal curvature, if the turbinates have regrown, if you have sinusitis, or if you have developed an allergic rhinitis to an extrinsic irritant.Visit an ENT physician or plastic surgeon for complete in-person examination and discussion.Best wishes...

A rhinoplasty is performed change the shape of the nose and will not improve breathing out of it. A thorough internal examination of the nose is going to be required to make a determination about what is causing the nasal obstruction,since there are many causes of nasal obstruction. A CAT scan of your sinuses can be performed to look for chronic sinus disease.
