I have high profile round saline implants 14 yrs ago. Should go with silicone this time? I need to go the cheapest route. My current implants are 420cc. I’m 5’ 4” weigh 175 athletic build with previous tummy tuck. My left implant has ruptured. I cannot afford a lift at this time. Just needing to replace. What kind and how many cc’s to achieve at least a DD.
Answer: Ruptured implants There is no formula that equates implant volume to cup size. For one thing, bra manufacturers do not have standard cup sizes. Also, each patient is different in regards to what cup size a particular volume will make them. Questions regarding cup sizes and implant style, shape, volume, etc. are best answered in consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can examine you in person. It's difficult to make an accurate assessment based on a single picture. Having said that, going with a larger implant volume will not give you any sort of breast lift. It will simply make you larger. You might want to consider the added weight that you will be carrying around your neck and shoulders. Patients come to me for breast reductions to get rid of that weight. They don't care what scars are on their breasts. They just want to get rid of that weight! Also, if you are short-waisted, larger breast implants may make you look stocky in clothes. Finally, I know you said that it is not in the financial cards for you at the moment, but I am thinking (based on a single picture) that you would get more benefit from a breast lift procedure than bigger implants.

Answer: Explant and The Bellesoma No Vertical Scar Lift Your breasts are too low on the chest wall and you need a lift. The technique I recommend is explantation using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Implants are not lifetime devices and half are removed by 9.5 years. Fat transfers are permanent and incorporated into the body.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Need to have my implants replaced due to a rupture. I can’t afford a lift but was told bigger implants would help lift Even though price is an important factor in this process- cheaper route- may not be the be the best route. Implants do not lift -- they only make the breasts larger. If you go with Re-Augmenation I suggest that you go with silicone implants - higher cohesivity - provided you understand it is not a substitute for a lift

Answer: Not true Larger implants do not help or replace a lift, the droopiness will be the same with any kind of implants. However, I do not think you are a good candidate for a mastopexy, since your nipples are only slightly low, in such cases a good anatomical shaped breast implant leads to awesome results.I do notice you need lower implants, currently they ride to hide thus aggravating the effect of low breast; this is probably misleading your judgement and biasing your surgeon; seek other opinions.See the link below to find few cases of my own practice very similar to yours which I had the opportunity to operate successfully on, sharing a lot of common features with the technical problem you have posted. If you wish better grounded opinion well lit, focused and standard images have to be assessed: frontal, both lateral and both oblique views, also from underneath. Feel free to request any additional information from me.

Answer: Implant size for DD The ideal Implant size cannot be determined by height and weight alone. It is best to have an in-office evaluation so that careful measurements can be taken to determine the best size implant for your chest diameter, several upper body measurements, and current breast tissue. Once you have the measurements, they are all put together to determine the right implant from the right manufacturer. Breast implants of the same cc's can look and feel extremely different depending on the profile and material. In my office, I have the MENTOR breast implant sizing system where different size molds are used to simulate how you appear in your own clothes and help finalize your decision. You are correct that larger implants can provide lift, but there will be a limit to the size of the implant before it is too heavy and will cause even more drooping in the long run. If you would like a larger than ideal implant, adding an internal mesh bra may help give you the long-term support you need to maintain a youthful and appropriate look. Hope this helps! Johnson C.
