Is there not a compression garment option for people with latex/rubber allergies/skin sensitivities?

In my office we routinely use Design Veronique garments (I have NO conflict of interest and no financial relationship with the company) in part because they are all hypoallergenic.  They are a little pricey, but made very well and we have not had trouble with them from an allergic perspective.That said, I would be careful about the garment you choose because we have had trouble with the hook/eye metal causing too much compression in small areas and actually have seen two pressure sores from that issue...so check yourself daily.Good Luck!

Our office provides our TT/lipo patients with an adjustable compression garment manufactured by Clear Point which is latex free.  The  patients like the support it provides to the back and to the abdomen.  The only complaint I have heard is related to the "itchiness" of the fabric which can be remedied by wearing a soft t-shirt under the garment.

Kris.   Sorry you are having this problem! One option could have been wearing a T-shirt under the garment to prevent contact with your skin. However, I am certain that there are garments to be found on the Internet for people like yourself with latex allergies. Also, alert your doctors about your latex allergy if you have any further surgery plans.  Good luck!

We use a brand of compression garment that is latex free.  In fact, all of our dressing and bandage supplies are latex free.  Our practice takes allergies very seriously since they can cause serious complications to the surgical site or systemic reactions.   I would recommend discussing with your surgeon or his office staff an alternative to the binder or potentially a different brand or type.  

Most surgical garment companies make a line which is latex free.  Contact your surgeon for recommendations.  Best wishes!
