During the second week of tummy tuck recovery, I felt a slight strain on one side of my abdominals when I mistakenly tried to adjust my recliner by myself. Ever since, that side has felt sensitive - as if I can feel the muscle is inflamed or somehow slightly out of place. There is no change in my profile. What could have happened? Will that side heal differently? What can I do? Could I have done damage that I can't see?

Answer: Tummy Tuck Muscle Repair Hi, sorry to hear you are having postoperative issues. Adjusting yourself in the recliner is a low impact movement. However, it is hard to speculate without knowing the exact technique used for your surgery as well as performing a physical exam. I would keep in close contact with your plastic surgeon. Follow the postoperative instructions that were provided to you. Good luck with your ongoing recovery.Dr. Eric Wright
