I'm thirteen years old and I have acne problems. My regular doctor prescribed a medicine for my acne, tretinoin cream 0.1%, and I began using that. About a week before he prescribed the medication, I began using Clearasil Ultra face wash. I continued using the clearasil when I began using the tretinoin cream. Two days of using the cream, my face gained more acne, burned, and began to peel. I stopped using both, but my face still burns and now it feels like leather.

Melasma can be effectively treated through chemical peels and topical bleaching creams. Cosmelan peels also work extremely well. Maintenance is important with chemical peels as well as strict sun avoidance. Best, Dr. Green
Thank you for your question. You need to make a consultation with your dermatologist to determine the cause and best treatment option. Make sure you are using gentle products and not exfoliating your skin until it heals. Best Wishes,Pablo Prichard, MD
Hi QueenA,Thank you for posting your question. There are no known contraindications with hypothroidism and chemical peels. If you are unsure, I suggest checking with your endocrinologist before treating. Hope this helps!Best wishes,Dr. Michael J. BrownNorthern Virginia Plastic Surgeon
