Can you get a chemical peel done if you have hypothyroidism or " Hashimotos " autoimmune disease?

I've heard on some forums that you can't if you have an autoimmune disease, but nothing about hypothyroidism. I don't clearly understand why it would affect an autoimmune disease either.
